 Community Participation

KTM works with communities in all its interventions. KTM engages communities and also solicits their participation from the onset of an intervention through implementation and close out. KTM encourages a bottom-up approach where programs are informed by the reality or challenges faced by real people on the ground. KTM believes that societies have a hand in their own development and so communities are kept involved. This also means KTM promotes local solutions that are tailored to fit the different communities. Communities are consulted to inform initiatives and are kept involved all the way through  implementation. Community participation has been key in ensuring sustainability of interventions. KTM encourages the participation of all community leaders or their representatives without discrimination. Encouraging community participation has been helpful in unique communities with unique challenges such as refugee communities.

 Social Justice and Equity

KTM believes that all human beings are equal and entitled to live a dignified life. KTM identifies with the poor, marginalized and destitute members of society that are deprived of social justice in a bid to improve their socio economic status. . KTM thus promotes initiatives that encourage social justice, human dignity and equity.

KTM promotes increase of access to services by poor and marginalized people through its various interventions. KTM reaches out to the vulnerable through its child support, youth women and other livelihood programs. KTM targets communities that are vulnerable and deprived of basic resources, works with them to increase access to basic services and transform societies for development.

We Provide

 Economic Empowerment and Resilience Building

KTM believes that many societal problems are founded or compounded by the economic status of communities. Communities that have limited access to economic resources tend to have challenges all round because the availability of economic resources makes it easy for one to attain other services. An example is the refugee community whose challenge is mainly political. However due to poverty, most refugees end up living in destitution and end up with more challenges than just political. KTM implements livelihood intervention in the local communities of implementation and this has been key in improving household income and promoting sustainability for the different initiatives. An example is a vulnerable family supported with livelihood interventions. This will be a boost to their nutrition status, increases access to medical care and education which in the long run removes families out of the chronic cycle of poverty.

We Provide

 Collaborations and Partnerships

KTM does not implement its programs in isolation. KTM partners with both local and foreign partners to ensure it meets its objectives.

KTM has partnered with local organizations to implement programs. This includes SMARD (Solidarity Ministries Africa for reconciliation and Development) a partner in Southern Sudan that reaches out to refugees. KTM and SMARD reached out to refugees in Kakuma Kenya. KTM is also part of a refugee working group in Kampala Uganda that hosts at least 5 entities that work with refugees in Uganda.

KTM has had a number of organizations with it in terms of donor grantee relationships where KTM has received funds to implement its various programs. Some of these include Cornerstone Trust, Mission Moriah to mention but a few.
