We provide to the youth necessary skilling they need to survive in the communities. They are equipped with knowledge and basic life skills.
KTM WORK IN THE LIVES OF YOUTHS
Vegetable garden
We conduct a monthly centre day at the different centres in the three districts. Youth are taught life skills; the word of God with emphasis on sexual purity, obedience, honest, hardworking but overall the youth are cautioned not to build their lives on sin because it would lead to failure;
Mentors visit youth at homes and schools. At schools, they monitor their academic progress of the youth and engage the class teachers to find out the possible ways if the youth are facing particular challenges in their academic performance.
At homes, mentors visit the youth to help them with the home challenges, the environment and to see if all the things given to youth are safe and available for their use. They also do counselling one on one to the children.
Youth Skilling
- The objective is to address issues of high rate of School drop out, idleness, poverty, service delivery, At least 48 youth in Pader district in Northern Uganda hailing from at least 5 sub counties have been enrolled into skills training by Kica Transforms Ministry. Of these 25 are female and 23 are male.
- The youth are being trained by local artisans in trades of their choice which include Carpentry and Joinery, Hairdressing, Garment cutting and tailoring, welding and metal Fabrication, Motorcycle mechanics, Catering and hospitality. A total of 12 artisans have been engaged and are currently training. The youth.
- The Youth were selected with the help of the local pastors from at least 5 sub counties in Pader. The artisans were suggested by youth and later engaged by KTM staff to ensure they met minimum standards
