KTM Enhances Vocational School Facilities and Moves Closer to Registration
KICA Transforms Ministry (KTM) continued its mission of transforming lives through education by upgrading the KTM Vocational Training School throughout 2023. Major improvements were undertaken to make the school more habitable and conducive for learning, marking a significant step forward in providing quality skills training to vulnerable youth in Pader District.
Renovations included plastering, painting, and screeding of the main school block, greatly improving the building’s structure and learning environment. Bushes surrounding the school compound were also cleared, making the area safer and more welcoming. As a result of these efforts, the school became fully habitable by the end of 2023.
To support practical training, KTM constructed a new toilet block, a temporary kitchen, and three functional workshops for Carpentry & Joinery, Welding & Fabrication, and Motorcycle Mechanics. These facilities now provide students with hands-on experience and skills critical for self-reliance and employment.
In addition to infrastructure development, KTM took key steps toward formalizing the school’s operations. The institution was assessed by the District Inspector of Schools in Pader District on behalf of the Ministry of Education. The inspector gave a positive recommendation to proceed with full registration of the school. The District Health Officer also visited and confirmed that the school met all basic health and hygiene standards required to operate.
These milestones not only reflect KTM’s commitment to holistic child and youth development, but also bring the school closer to being fully accredited. KTM remains dedicated to empowering communities through vocational education, leadership development, and God’s mercy in action.
