KICA Builds New Home for Orphaned Siblings After Shelter Collapse
In a heartwarming demonstration of God’s mercy and community transformation, KICA Transforms Ministry (KTM) has constructed a new home for a sibling-headed household led by 17-year-old Kenneth. Following the tragic loss of both parents, Kenneth and his five siblings—two girls and four boys—were left living in a dilapidated shelter. When heavy rains caused the structure to collapse, the children were left homeless and vulnerable.
Thanks to the generous support of KTM’s ministry partners, a decent and safe house has now been built for the family. The handover ceremony was graced by community leaders and district officials, who applauded the compassion and commitment shown to the children.
The transformation has been life-changing. “I don’t know where we’d be today,” shared one of the girls tearfully. “I had lost hope and wanted to end my life. But now I have hope because I see light in my tunnel. I’ve found love in Jesus Christ, and through our sponsors, I’ve found new parents who care for us.”
Kenneth added, “I never thought I’d have a mattress, food, school fees paid, and a home of our own. I’m now learning carpentry and building a future.”
This intervention is a powerful example of KTM’s vision—societies transformed for development—and its mission of reflecting God’s mercy through holistic child and leadership development. With a safe place to call home, education, and emotional healing, Kenneth’s family now has a restored sense of dignity, purpose, and a future filled with promise.
This is more than a shelter—it’s a new beginning.
