NOMI has been able to settle their students from far distances in boarding facilities that can enable them to easily access school. It was a big challenge to the institute to accommodate boarding students but we thank God that NOMI has partnered with the local community which offered an old facility that was not in use to NOMI on a rental basis. Two blocks were offered by a nearby public school which were renovated and improved to suit dormitory facilities for the boys and girls.

This term, management of institute has added another course that is agriculture. Therefore, to create awareness about the new course,
we had to edit the old advert and send to radio station and this advert is going to run in Radio Luo station for the entire month of June.
CHALLENGES ENCOUNTERED
DURING THE COURSE OF THE MONTH
- Store, we do not have a place to keep tools, equipment and food items. It really so hard to control the school property since authorized person can access them at any time without permission.
- Class room, the number of students and teaching tools are increasing making it hard to accommodate them in one room and secondly we have few classroom to conduct lessons
- .Reliable means of transport. Currently, the institute does not have any mean of transport to help in operation. We are borrowing motorcycle from Kica transform ministry to help in administrative programs..
- Inadequate training, we do not have enough training materials especially for practical lesson. Because of this challenge, welding department has not conducted any practical lesson at school since school open apart from few which were done outside garage.
To legalize ownership of the school land, an Instruction to survey which is a mandatory process that precedes the development of the land title was successfully done. Mark stones have been fixed to mark the boundaries of the land. And now we are waiting for a deed plan from the land board. The lack of infrastructure needed to shelter such a large group of people led to public health concerns, as weather conditions worsened and cases of illness among children were confirmed by binational health officials. This is the situation that thousands of people found themselves in, fleeing violence or persecution and running out of resources before securing a chance at asylum.
